Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
As you are by now well aware, COVID-19 has begun to impact everyone. Not only are many in our community at high risk for this infection, but many are impacted financially or socially by this crisis. We (both individually and as a church) are called to be a light to those in our community and to care for the poor, vulnerable, and sick just as Jesus did.
For this reason, we are forming the Coronavirus Support Team. There are many in our church family in need of support and even more in our community in desperate need of the gospel. Now maybe more than ever people's hearts are softened to the gospel. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to serve on this team, with the mission of caring for and bringing the gospel to those most affected by this pandemic in our community. We want to support those who are at high risk for catching the virus so that they can shelter safely at home without unnecessary public exposure.
Who we will care for:
- Elderly
- People with medical conditions making them more vulnerable
- Those actively being quarantined
- People who need encouragement during social distancing
What we are looking for in a volunteer :
- Those at low risk for being seriously affected by COVID-19
- Those who are not interacting with lots of people on a regular basis (A cashier at Hannaford would not be a good candidate)
- Those who have time to make phone calls/meals/run errands
