Dear Friends,
The Board of Trustees, Minister, and Licensed Unity Leaders of Unity Center of Cedar Rapids (UCR) implemented a Task Force to monitor and quickly respond to the rapidly changing recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Linn County Public Health Department concerning COVID-19. Yesterday, the CDC recommendation for group size fell to an upper limit of 10. Today, Governor Reynolds has prohibited gatherings of more than 10 state-wide, including churches and religious organizations. Therefore, it is necessary to suspend in-person Sunday services and instead meet via livestream for at least the next three weeks. Additionally, there will be no meetings or classes at the church during this time.
The instructions for livestreaming will arrive via separate email, and for those unable to connect via livestream, we are exploring other options. This also includes the livestreaming of our Wednesday Lenten Meditation Service at 6 PM beginning this week. We are committed to remaining connected to our UCR community over the next few weeks. You will hear more about this very soon, so please monitor your email. Let’s embrace this season as an opportunity to reach out to our UCR family in new and creative ways.
