Lake Worth Beach, FL -- Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis ,has issued Executive Order 20-68 (https://www.flgov.com/wp-content/uploads/orders/2020/EO_20-68.pdf)
This Order directs:
- all bars and nightclubs in the State to suspend the sale of alcohol for 30 days.
- all restaurants to maintain 50% or less capacity for the next 30 days.
The City of Lake Worth Beach Mayor and Commission, in an effort to ease the burden on our local establishments, has collaborated with staff to develop a plan that will allow restaurants to temporarily designate adjacent public parking spaces as pick-up only parking spaces.
This plan will apply to restaurants that:
- remain in compliance with the Governor's order
- lack adequate on site parking
This will make it possible for all restaurants to provide curbside pick up which will make it easier for residents to collect food while practicing social distancing.
City of Lake Worth Beach Mayor, Pam Triolo, said,
"As a small business owner myself I understand how difficult orders like this can be. We care about our local businesses and consider them a vital part of what makes Lake Worth Beach such a wonderful place to live. Working with the restaurants to find a way for residents to grab a meal without having to go into the restaurant and worry about social distancing is a win-win."
The City of Lake Worth Beach will continue to work with businesses effected by the current pandemic to explore opportunities to assist them through this trying time.
The City urges the public to monitor the City Website (www.lakeworthbeachfl.gov) for up-to-date information. In addition the public should follow the City's Social Media channels for further information.
The Florida Department of Health has established a dedicated Coronavirus (COVID19) call center (1-866-779-6121) for the public to call 24 hours a day. In addition, the public can email COVID19@flhealth.gov for information.
