CHRONICLING A CRISIS

We ask for your help.

CAPTURING OUR HISTORY AS IT HAPPENS

We are living in extraordinary times. Daily our lives are changing in ways we couldn't have imagined. For the Takoma community this will have short and lasting impacts on our family life, our social structures, our businesses and institutions, and so much more.

Historic Takoma would like to capture the experiences of families, residents, businesses, and institutions as we go through our daily lives.

Toward that end, we ask you to keep a simple journal in whatever format suits you: a notebook, a digital document, a scrapbook, etc. Capture your daily life and how it has changed: school, work, shopping, recreation,... How is your family changing and adapting its routines? How are you feeling?

At some some point in the future we will collect these notes and recollections to place in our archives to pass on to future generations.

At this point we simply ask you to start the process. If you take pictures, please make a note of when they were taken, where, who's in the picture, and so on. That's important for future reference.

Thanks for joining us in this historic endeavor.
