We are happy to announce that Manyata has crossed 1000+ facility registrations across 6 states - Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. We could not have reached this far without your unrelenting commitment towards the program.
We would also like to thank our partners for their continued support in ensuring that we stay the course to achieve our goal of making India a safer country for women to give birth.

SENSITIZATION & TRAINING SESSIONS

Orientation sessions on LaQshya-Manyata
- An orientation session on LaQshya-Manyata was held at Kolhapur OBGYN society on 26 February, with 20 doctors in attendance.
- Karad OBGYN society independently organized an orientation session on 26 February. Dr. Milind Shah, a Manyata lead assessor, hosted the session with 29 doctors in attendance, many of whom expressed interest in joining the program.

Staff training for LaQshya-Manyata was organized at a Government training hall in Nanded on 25 & 26 February. Close to 22 nurses and staff members received training, on 26 Clinical and Facility Standards, from the Civil Surgeon and the Resident Medical Officer.

Manyata Partners’ Meeting with FOGSI President
Dr. Alpesh Gandhi hosted a meeting, for Manyata partners and leadership, on 22 February at FOGSI headquarters. The meeting focused on discussing each partner’s role in amplifying the program’s impact in the coming year.

Manyata at AMOGS Conference, 25 February 2020
LaQshya-Manyata was extensively showcased in the 3-day AMOGS conference at Amravati. A LaQshya-Manyata stall was set up at the venue where providers were apprised about the program. Dr. Hrishikesh Pai also made a presentation on LaQshya-Manyata at the conference. The team received a lot of interest from participants about the program and was invited by the Presidents & Secretaries of local OBGYN societies to showcase Manyata in their upcoming CMEs.

Summary: The 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) may not pass to the child in the womb during late pregnancy, or cause severe health outcomes in a newborn, according to a study published in The Lancet journal. They also found that symptoms from COVID-19 infection in pregnant women were similar to those reported in non-pregnant adults, and no women in the study developed severe pneumonia or died.

Summary: According to a randomized, double-blinded placebo-controlled study of 11,976 women, in six countries, pregnant women who take a daily baby aspirin may reduce the risk for premature birth. The study was published in Lancet.
