Remaining Meetings Cancelled

It is with regret that given the current situation with the coronavirus, your committee have decided to cancel the remaining meetings for this season.

Although the Guild is still currently open, with the age range of our members & the Government advice for social distancing, we feel it better to be safe and not meet in person.

The remaining events will be carried over to the next season.

We can all still stay in touch via email - all current Members have a wilmslowguildav email address,
it is Firstname.Surname@wilmslowguildav.org.uk

We also have our FaceBook Page where you can post comments or ask questions if you need any help

The committee can be contacted on committee@wilmslowguildav.org.uk

If anyone has any other suggestions for staying in contact, especially a theme for the Christmas competition at the end of the year, then please get in touch.

Take the enforced isolation time to learn more about PTE and get producing lots of new sequences ready for the Autumn.

Hopefully we will all be able to meet up again in September or maybe earlier if the situation improves.
We will send out occasional Newsletters to keep you all imformed

Stay safe & well & keep yourselves occupied
Jill & John

Last Meeting - 13th March

Our last meeting we should have had a visit from Altrincham Video Society, however due to the current situation our guests felt it was best not to attend external meetings.

Instead John gave a recap of the use of Modifiers in PTE. For the types of AV we normally produce their use is perhaps limited, but occasionally they can be useful for a fun sequence.

Both Jill & John then gave a demonstration of the Free Video Editing Program Da Vinci Resolve.
This is a very powerful program with many capabilities. Like Photoshop there are several ways of doing the same thing.
Having recently produced a video from a multi camera shoot for their local village Pantomime, they showed how Da Vinci can be used to sync the footage from multiple cameras & quickly select the appropriate camera angle to build up the finished video.
Jill demonstrated what she had learnt about the 'Cut' Page & John demonstrated how to use the 'Edit' Page.

Da Vinci is a large program & needs a powerful computer, with a good Graphics card & lots of memory to run successfully.
It will run on Windows 10 & 8, but doesn't work on Windows 7.
