CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – MARCH 18, 2020

Hello Valley Friends!
It’s hard not to feel overwhelmed and anxious thesedays. The coronavirus itself is cause for alarm, but the steps taken to curb the virus are impacting us in ways that are also pretty hard to take.
Your Valley leaders and ministry staff are committed to doing our best to help our church stick together so we can help each other pull through this difficult time. With the social distancing recommendations, church as usual is not an option. So, let’s do church as “unusual.” Let’s go above and beyond usual and take some creative steps to keep in touch and to help each other. With commitment and effort, we can keep our church and faith life vibrant through this crisis. Listed below are the things we are planning to do in the days and weeks ahead. Thank you for the support, patience, and unity you have expressed this week. Let me close with these words from the Apostle Peter, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7)

30-MINUTE DRIVE-IN WORSHIP (9:30AM / 10:30AM)
Starting Sunday, March 22, we will have two 30-Minute Drive-In worship times. We will have room for 50-60 cars to park in our north parking lot. Pastor Dave and Pastor Brad will be outdoors ready to greet you all and to lead a short time of worship, prayer, and encouragement. We will have a Sunday packet for each car with church info, song lyrics, and activity sheets for the kids (bring some crayons). The sound will be broadcast to each car via FM Radio. The service will also be online.
GOOD MORNING, VALLEY!
Starting soon, we will be posting a daily video update and devotional thought on our websites and Facebook pages. Get the latest news and some prayer and encouragement for your day.
NEW PRIVATE VALLEY FACEBOOK PAGE
We already have a Facebook page, but it’s public. We will be creating a new private Facebook page where everyone in our Valley family can post needs, greetings, updates, prayer requests, and encouragement without it being visible to the general public.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT PRAYER-STREAM
Starting March 26, Dewey Roth will be leading a live-stream prayer time on Wednesdays at 7:00pm. Get online and join with others to pray for our church family, our community, and our world.
WEBSITE FELLOWSHIP & STUDY RESOURCES
Because we can no longer meet for our Bible Study and Fellowship Groups, we are making new pages for Kids, Youth, and Adult enrichment. Look under the PROGRAMS menu to see everything.

Pastor Micah McLellan will be posting ideas for family times, helpful videos, and other great resources.
YOUTH ZOOM GATHERINGS
Pastor Mike Nelson will host a number of video conferencing events each week for high-school and middle-school students. He will be helping families get set-up so the youth in their house can participate.
HOPE PRAYER NETWORK
Through our email prayer network, Sheri Lynch will be helping us pray for each other and meet each other’s needs. Send an email to prayerteam@valleycc.org to share a prayer request or praise, or to make a need known, or to sign-up to receive Hope Prayer Network emails.
PRO-ACTIVE PASTORAL CARE
In an effort to be sure we are meeting needs and keeping in touch with everyone, our pastoral staff and a team of pastoral care volunteers will make every effort to have a personal contact with every Valley household every week. If you have a need or know of a need, don’t hesitate to contact us. Contact information for all our pastors and staff is available at valleycc.org/contact.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND SERVICE
On our website, we will be posting opportunities for you to serve others. Look for Community Service under the Volunteer menu on our homepage (https://www.valleycc.org/community-service.html).
