TO: Anglers who fished the Catch-A-Dream Bass Classic in recent years

We know that everyone is dealing with the “new normal” of life due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And many have asked about plans for Bass Classic 2020.
We announced Monday on the Bass Classic Facebook page that we will POSTPONE Registration until April 15 to allow time to assess the big picture and determine what approach to take regarding the 2020 Bass Classic.
We are operating under strong advisement from CDC, the Surgeon General and the White House to practice social distancing, avoid gatherings of 10 or more people, and to avoid gatherings in general for the next several weeks. We fully support the strategy of our leaders to curb the spread of this virus, and want to be sure we do our part to protect not only our Program, but each and every person in our communities and nation.
We released a general public statement yesterday about Catch-A-Dream activities in general, but we also want you to know the status of the 2020 Bass Classic.
At this point in time, 6 weeks from the tournament date, we feel it is too early to make definite decisions about changes -- we do not know what the next couple of weeks may hold for us and what might be anticipated next. But, we will proceed with finalizing ad sales and print a Souvenir Program (one significant source of revenue) and have opened online sales of the NEW Tournament JERSEY (another revenue source) which is already in production and will be arriving from the manufacturer by mid-April. Neither of these components is dependent upon assembling crowds, public exposure, etc., but both can help salvage part of our income stream if, by chance, we are forced to make major changes in the actual tournament.
As we monitor developments, circumstances and federal/state recommendations/mandates regarding reduction in spread of the virus, we will devise a CONTINGENCY plan to be announced on or before April 15 that will provide a clear message about what, if any changes, we will make for Bass Classic 2020.
