NEWS & UPDATES

Hello iRide Parents and Participants,

In these uncertain and unprecedented times, Cycling BC, like the rest of the world, is monitoring the rapidly changing situation, heeding the advice of health authorities, and following the lead of our national and world cycling governing bodies.

At this time, all in-school and after-school programs through to June 30th have been rescheduled for spring 2021. If you have already registered, your registration and payment will be provided in credit for next year's programs.

Over the coming months, we will be working on resources designed to help your child master their bike skill at home with your assistance. In the meantime, please check out these online learning tools, plus a fantastic playlist of videos from British Cycling here.

Our team will also be working on new instructor training resources as we prepare to share our iRide learning curriculum with other provinces in Canada. To learn more about Cycling Canada's new Hop-On initiative, please visit https://hoponcanada.ca/

To help your family stay active this spring, we would also like to connect you with Velofix, a mobile bike shop that comes to your home or business and tunes your bike up at a time that works best for you.

Earlier this month, Velofix Sea2Sky's Zach Sigouin helped iRide prepare for the season and given the hard times ahead, Zach would like to extend a 20% discount on labour on any service booked with the Sea2Sky Franchise, this applies to anyone with a Burnaby, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton postal code. For more information please contact Zach via email.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to monitor the situation and we hope you are all staying healthy, still enjoying time on your bikes, and taking advantage of technology to connect with family and friends.

The Cycling BC community spirit is strong; overcoming challenges is what we do. We will get through this together.

Sincerely,

Ben Chaddock
Cycling BC iRide Manager.
