Dear Burns Church Friends:

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)
This is a challenging time for all of us as we combat COVID-19 in our country.  In light of the circumstances, we are suspending our worship services until further notice.  Our office will be closed, but our administrator, Laura, is reachable during office hours at (905) 655-8509 or by email office@burnschurch.org or you can reach me anytime at (905) 904-1632 or kennedyrob9@gmail.com.  The elders and pastoral care team will continue to reach out and connect with you.  This Sunday, March 22nd, I will be posting a short message on youtube for our congregation and community; so stay tuned for the youtube link this Saturday evening.
In this difficult time of social distancing and self-isolation, remember that you are not alone.  The good news of the gospel is that when we invite Jesus Christ into our lives, he lives within us by His Spirit; that he might be with us now and to the very end of the age. (Mat. 28:20)  Jesus also manifests himself to us in a significant way when two or three gather together in his name. (Mat. 18:20)  Although, we can’t meet together in person for the time being, we can stay connected with each other by phone, email, face-time and social media to give and receive prayer and encouragement from our brothers and sisters in Christ, and be affirmed of God’s gracious presence and care for us.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,  not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Continue to pray for the people who are already suffering from the effects of COVID-19 and for all who are working overtime in our community for your families’ safety.  Pray for those who have lost their jobs or businesses and face uncertain times ahead.  Check in with those who are isolated and may need groceries etc. and/or those who will be encouraged by a friendly conversation.
Let your light shine before all people that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Mat 5:16)
God will continue to strengthen and guide us during this time, as we rest in Him.

In Christ,
Pastor Rob

But God has put the body together…so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. (1 Cor. 12:24-26)
