King Galleries Update March 2020
To our clients, our artists, and friends,
Each day for the past several weeks, I have awoken early to the ever-changing news about the COVID-19 outbreak. As it has progressed and more safety measures have been put in place, I realize that we need to be a part of the solution. I believe we have to provide healthy and safe gallery spaces for our staff, clients, and artists in both Santa Fe and Scottsdale.
We will be keeping both galleries open, but primarily available "by appointment" until April 1st. During this period, I will be available during regular business hours by phone, e-mail, or gallery appointment. I believe this is essential to continue to keep our staff employed, and for us to remain connected with our artists. I always say that our success is achieved through teamwork, and that remains even more relevant now than ever. As much as our staff and artists are part of our team, each of you is part of the same team, continuing to keeping amazing Native art, education, and culture alive in a time of adversity!
I suppose we can be considered lucky that galleries are usually "no-touch" spaces, and right now we rarely have more than ten people in at a time. In the world of pottery, we have always been much more aggressive about clean hands, which means clean pottery! At the moment, we have focused on making sure both spaces are sanitary and disinfected each day. For shipping orders, we are using numerous safety precautions, including unused interior packaging materials assembled by our staff wearing gloves. All this packaging is done in private well-ventilated areas. Your safety is our priority.
Over the next fifteen or so days, we will be focusing on our online website with new articles, online orders, and our usual daily New Addition updates. We are offering free shipping and have great lay-away programs. We are always available by e-mail, phone, text, and Direct Message on Social Media. I will try and be immediately responsive. If it's easier, you are welcome to text me at 480.481.0187 with any immediate questions, identify who you are because I'm a lousy area code guesser! As well, now is a great time to ask me any great pottery questions!
As for our future exhibitions, our summer shows are still on schedule, but we are assessing any event within the next 30 days. That may mean that our events might be rescheduled, or turned into virtual or online shows. We will let everyone know what we intend to do via e-mail, website, and social media.
Please stay safe, and we hope this pandemic is short-lived and our economic recovery fast.
Please accept our Best Wishes for Everyone to Stay Healthy, and thank you for your continued support of the gallery, our artists, and being part of our team in a time of stress and uncertainty.
