ATC Operations Update

ATC management staff continue to have daily video conference calls to ensure that our essential services in Medical Transportation, Child Family Services and support to Post Secondary and High School Boarding Home students will continue.

Phone line issues: Please be advised that ATC has been experiencing difficulties with our phone services. Due to higher call volumes in the area, people have been calling ATC and getting a message that all circuits are busy. We have been working with our phone service provider to resolve this issue. If you are calling and getting this message, please continue to call and you will get through when the circuits become available. We hope this issue is resolved as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can email ATC at info@atcfn.ca.

Updates on what to do if you think you have COVID-19

If you are sick or think you may have been exposed to COVID-19:

  • If you have any symptoms, including a dry cough, fever, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, runny nose, nasal congestion or a sore throat you MUST self-isolate and visit www.ahs.ca/covid and complete the online self-assessment tool to determine if you need testing for COVID-19.
  • Please DO NOT visit a hospital, physician’s office, lab or healthcare facility without consulting Health Link (811) first.
  • If your symptoms worsen, call 811. They are experiencing heavy call volumes and will get to your call as quickly as they can.
  • Call 911 if you are seriously ill and need immediate medical attention. Inform them that you may have COVID-19.

How to Self-isolate

If you need to self-isolate, follow these guidelines:

  • stay home – do not attend work, school, social events or any other public gatherings
  • avoid close contact with other people – especially seniors and people with chronic conditions or compromised immune systems
  • don’t take public transportation like buses, taxis or ride-sharing, where possible
  • watch for symptoms in yourself or a family member

Alberta Health Services recognizes that accessibility to mental health information is crucial during a crisis. During this stressful time, AHS has provided Albertans with coping strategies to better serve Alberta's citizens and their families.

Student Learning During COVID-19

The Government of Alberta recommends that students continue to learn while in-school classes are cancelled.

School authorities will offer at-home learning opportunities for all Kindergarten to Grade 12 students online or through accommodations like course packages and telephone check-ins.

Teachers will determine what content to cover based on remaining curricular outcomes and plan tasks that are reasonable to do from home.
