Berkeley International Office would like to notify you of some important updates to our services. Please understand that BIO’s services are currently impacted by Alameda County’s shelter in place directive, in place through April 7. While our physical location is closed, we will maintain our virtual student advising and other advising services through email and Zoom. Requests and Document Production Changes
Please note that BIO’s document-production services will be severely impacted by Alameda County’s shelter in place directive. We intend to resume normal processing and services when the shelter in place directive ends or is removed. Because of the shelter in place directive, students are not permitted to enter our building to pick up documents, and we are severely limited in the number of staff allowed to enter the building for document printing and mailout support. We are prioritizing requests that are required for applications to USCIS for immigration benefits, requests for extension of imminently expiring I-20s or DS-2019s, or other requests requiring immediate action within the next 30 days. These are the only types of requests we are currently processing:
Virtual Student Advising Options
OPTION 1: Travel Q&A Drop-In
Group travel Q&A with a BIO advisor. Get common COVID-19-related travel questions answered quickly.
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 10 am - 12 pm and 1-4 pm
The drop-in sessions close promptly at 12 pm / 4 pm.

OPTION 2: One-on-One Virtual Advising
One-on-one advising with a BIO advisor. You will be placed into a virtual waiting room until it's your turn.

- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Join the waiting room between 10-11 am for morning advising and 1-3 pm for afternoon advising.
(Note: although the Zoom meeting may appear "open" after these cutoff times, we will only be able to advise you if you entered the waiting room by the posted cutoff time.)
