Information affecting businesses changes from day to day and it is important that you are receiving accurate information in a timely manner. We recommend signing up to receive text message updates from the city as well as email updates from the NYC Department of Small Business Services. Financial Assistance:
The City will provide relief for businesses across NYC seeing a reduction in revenue because of COVID-19. Businesses with <100 employees who have seen sales decreases of 25% or more will be eligible for zero interest loans of up to $75,000 to help mitigate losses in profit. The City is also offering small businesses with fewer than 5 employees a grant to cover 40% of payroll cost for two months to help retain employees. Eligible owners who would like to learn more about these programs and the eligibility requirements should visit: nyc.gov/covid19biz. Mandated Changes:
Currently the city has mandated that all restaurants, bars, and cafes must only conduct delivery or takeout service. Businesses are encouraged to offer "contactless delivery" where food or goods can be dropped off in a secure location without person to person contact. If your business does not currently offer delivery services through a delivery partner consider advertising delivery services through social media channels. In addition, gatherings of 50 or more people are currently banned.
