CLUB SHUTDOWN FROM 4PM TOMORROW!

Dear Members,

Since our last communication about the COVID-19 situation, a great deal has changed. Our primary responsibility as an organisation is to keep the community safe. Our members are part of this community and we need to be mindful of how we help prevent the spread of the virus as much as possible, whilst following government advice and direction.

From 4pm tomorrow, The club will cease all operations and all fobs will be deactivated from the gym, the only access you will get is to get your equipment out. This is to be taken very seriously and we will be monitoring the club rooms with video surveillance. We know this will be very upsetting for a lot of members but we need to do what is right for our members.

Activities going ahead

Patrols will continue as per our agreement with SLSWA and City of Joondalup, however, it is strongly recommended that patrolling services enact social distancing measures to reduce the likelihood of viral transmission.

Activities Cancelled

Office – The Club office will remain open; however, will no longer be accepting walk-ins or visitors. All enquiries should be directed via phone or email. (admin@sorrentoslsc.org.au or 08 9448 1431) This measure allows us to improve social distancing and reduce the risk to our employees, whilst still operating as a business. Whilst these work practices remain in place access to the Club office is restricted for members and non-essential visitors.
  • Club rooms including the bar and cafe – will be closed for all functions and events, including Wednesday, Friday nights, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
  • Gym and changing rooms – will be closed as we cannot support the hygiene requirements for these areas due to the limited available supply of anti-bacterial equipment and the inability to monitor cleaning
  • Equipment sheds – will remain open for personal equipment access, patrol requirements and maintenance. These areas are not to be used as social areas and social distancing guidelines must be followed

  • All Club equipment is to remain in the storage sheds, with the exception of patrol equipment that is only to be used for patrol purposes. No one is to use any club skis, boats, IRB’s (patrol use only), boards etc
  • Club bar and Café are closed until further notice.
Whilst we understand this will come as a disappointment to all, we cannot undertake any activities that put members or the community at risk. I must stress, as there is no sanctioned club training, any activities are at club members own risk and will not be covered by the SLSA accident policy should an incident occur. Personal training on personal equipment is up to the individual.

Thank you for understanding on this matter.
