Oh so close, Taekwondo won't be defeated, as Arnold said...…I'll be back

Just an injury break, not a knock out

Unless you have just arrive back from another planet, no doubt your more than aware of the impact that the current health situation is having on the World.
Obviously, and most importantly people's wellbeing, but in this instance almost all major sporting events have been either put on hold or cancelled.
In our case, we are riding out the wave and awaiting a rescheduled date from the Arnold.Sports Festival.

With all the gloom and doom bombarding the media, I want to take a different tact and focus on the positive.

Firstly, thank you to all who got behind the event, with 480 registrations, from near and far, we were a week away from taking the expo by storm, and showing the public the power of Taekwondo. I sincerely hope to see you all back for the reboot, and maybe we'll squeeze a couple more in.

Thank you to all those who see the bigger picture regarding the postponement, your understanding and empathy, in that we did not create the virus, and the whole world is in the same boat. For the long term viability of the event, and our sports presence in it, it is important we show solidarity and awareness.

Along with physical skills, fitness, self defense and everything else, Taekwondo develops resolve and character, and unprecedented moments like these are where we stand up and show these traits.

The kind words of support have meant the world to me, and I will bend over backwards once again to go over and beyond to make the reboot even greater than this one was going to be.

See you all soon, once I have a date, you will certainly hear about it :)

ALL PERSONS REGISTERED FORTHE ARNOLD CLASSIC TAEKWONDO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS & ARNOLD KIDS CLASSIC WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY REGISTERED FOR THE RESCHEDULED ARNOLD CLASSIC AT NO EXTRA COST.

FREE TOURNAMENT THIS WEEKEND

Venue (both days): Fighting Arts Fitness Centre -: 203-207 Glenroy Road, Glenroy

Saturday 21st March - all 18+ years

WT Poomsae / ITF Patterns - Rego 12noon, kick off 1.00pm

WT Sparring / ITF Sparring - Rego: 2,30pm Kick off 3.00pm

Sunday 22nd March - all under 18 years

The day will be split into 3 sessions:

8am - Registration (Under 10 years of ages)

9am - Kick off (Under 10 years of ages)

11am - registration (10-14 years)

12noon - kick off (10-14 years)

2pm - Registration (14 years + over)

3.00pm - Kick off (14 years + over)

As categories finish, medals will be awarded, and people invited to leave to ensure we limit people in the venue at any one time.

Parents are welcome to attend with juniors, we would never prevent that, however if you are bringing 10 members of your family to come watch, please limit this to parents/siblings only.

We will have people on the door monitoring attendance levels.

A reminder:

• The event is FREE for all those persons previously registered in the Arnold Classic Taekwondo World Championships

• New entrants are being accepted (numbers will be capped) - links in event listing

• We can accommodate all those previously registered

• New entrants will get FREE entry to the next Arnold Classic Taekwondo Championships (date to be advised)

• Spectators are FREE of charge

• BYO protective equipment

• BYO sanitizer, towels and drink bottles

If you feel unwell, display flu symptoms, or have been in proximity to somebody you know has been expose to Coronavirus, please do not attend (including spectators)

If you have any concerns whatsoever, please do not feel pressured to attend, all people will be credited the rescheduled Arnold Classic Taekwondo whether you attend this weekend or not.

We understand some people will opt not to take up this offer of a FREE tournament, in which case we hope to see you all at the rescheduled Arnold Classic Taekwondo World Championships (date will be posted as it comes to hand)
