Hi <<First Name>>,

So how are you doing today?

This is a strange time to be alive. Feels sort of like being in a film, doesn't it.

I know we’re doing this Lent series on deconstruction, and that will continue from tomorrow, but today I just wanted to let you know a couple of things.
  1. If you’re worried, it’s ok. It’s natural to be worried at a time like this – when everything is upside down, rhythms and routines of life are thrown out of the window.
  2. If you’re not worried, it’s ok. We all have different responses to this kind of situation, and if you’re one of the people who doesn’t feel concerned, then that’s fine.
  3. What will get us through all this, besides handwashing and hours spent avoiding social contact, is generosity of spirit. Strive to be as generous as you can, to as many people as you can, as often as you can. As annoying as it may be to see others behaving in ways that seem ridiculous to you, or to face the prospect of various kinds of inconvenience, we’re all more or less in the same boat. We’re all trying to deal with a difficult situation in the best way we know how. So be generous.
One of the things I have spent a long time doing, is talking to people who are in distress of some sort, if you need someone to talk to, you can get in touch with me. If everyone does this, I am going to be in trouble, but I know not everyone will, so if you need to chat, gis-a-shout. I’m not judgemental, and I don’t blab.
Back tomorrow with some more deconstruction, be good to yourself today.

Love and peace,
Simon
