Court Re-surfacing Update
The first stage of the court re-surfacing has been successfully completed by our contractors. The existing surface was over-drilled and the holes filled with pea gravel. This is to aid draining of the new surface. The tarmac was then laid on top and will remain in place for approximately three weeks to cure fully.
When the temperature is in the low teens for a few days the tarmac will have its top seal and final paint coat added along with the lines of the courts.

The courts will remain closed for this period. Please do not attempt to play or enter the courts as this can damage the new top surface. The codes on the gates have been changed for this temporary re-surfacing period and will be changed again for the new membership year when the courts are available.

Club Session Arrangements during court resurfacing and Coronavirus
The committee is continuing to follow Government and LTA guidance on Coronavirus. Based on current advice, the following club sessions are available at members discretion and providing that members maintain a 2m distance from each other, particularly whilst off court and that high risk members and those showing potential coronavirus conditions don’t attend.
Club sessions will be:
Tuesday pm: private court, contact George Deacon for details
Tuesday evening (men’s team practice): one outside floodlit court at Vale of White Horse Abingdon,
Wed am cardio: this will no longer take place during court closure.
Wednesday evening indoor courts at VoWH on Wed 1 April is under review, outdoor Wednesday evening sessions may resume when the courts open, expected to be 22 April, if Coronavirus conditions allow.
Thursday pm: two outdoor courts at VoWH 1.30 to 3.30
Friday am Ladies session: this is being assessed and info will be circulated
Saturday am: two outdoor courts at VoWH 10.00 to 12.00

The club will try and provide balls but you may like to bring your own in case arrangements don’t quite work.

VOWH (WHLTC) Abingdon currently remains open to the public, but check for latest updates here: https://www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/vale-of-white-horse/white-horse-leisure-and-tennis-centre.
