Many health advisors are recommending golf for fresh air and exercise during this partial "lockdown" as it is played outdoors, in small groups and people aren't too close together.
We're still open for golf, drinks and some food. We plan to stay open throughout this crazy time and provide people with an escape from their homes. Some of the steps we have taken to make visiting us as safe as possible include:
Propping the clubhouse door open
Cleaning the surfaces and card machines regularly
Removing rakes from the bunkers - please use your feet to rake the sand smooth
Covering ball washers
Offering plastic/ takeaway cups for drinks
Making hand sanitisers available in the clubhouse
We recommend golfers take some of the following precautions:
Concede more putts than usual to reduce the number of times you pick the ball out of the hole
Change your shoes in the car park
Avoid using the shoe cleaner
Pay over the phone if you're concerned about coming into the clubhouse
Alternatively you can stand in the canopy and pay through the window by the coffee machine
Staff announcement
We are happy to welcome Sean Haynes as our our new head greenkeeper. Having spent 20 years at Bearwood Lakes we are really excited to have him at Billingbear and look forward to seeing the impact he can make on our courses.
Coaching reminder
Our resident teaching professionals Jack and Gregg are still available to give lessons and can help get your games on track for the upcoming season.
Jack's winter package is still available even if you don't intend to use it until after the virus threat has subsided.
Gregg is offering 6 lessons for the price of 5 at the moment.
