Hi beautiful person

Here I am again, coming at you with a next tip.

Are you starting to regret already that you signed up? 'She said an e-mail once in a while and now I am getting these weird messages everyday of her reading books, lying around in her chill clothes and that strange collection of pigeon photographs in my mailbox', I am imagining you - my online friend - thinking at this moment.

And yes, here I am again, with a weird message and some photos of me doing something that looks like unprofessional modern interpretative dance.

But, as you are still stuck inside (presumably/hopefully), you might as well read my next introvert tip, and be mildly amused with my weird emails for the time being.

So the next introvert tip is:

4. Be like a plant - Move towards the sun

I will focus mainly on the movement aspect of this today (plants might get their say in another email).

Have you moved today? And with move, I do not necessarily mean exercise - I have seen plenty of joggers and mountainbikers and jumping up and down benches and even some people lying flat on the ground and lifting their arms and feets - in the madness of the wild outside these days.

But movement is so much more than that. Movement is lifting up your baby, who is getting bored of playing inside and gently swinging him from left to right. Movement is the intricate dance you do at your sidewalk - trying to stay 1.5 m away from the person approaching you. Movement is walking circles in your living room as you are digesting things. Movement is stretching out your arms after sitting behind your computer too much. Movement is tensing up your muscles after reading too much news, or crying to relieve tension. Movement is flexing your toes and blinking your eyes.

And movement is also positioning your body in any way that feels good to you, in any what order, no matter how weird or unnatural or silly it looks. Because you are at home, isolated alone or with loved ones, and no one will judge.

Move for allowing your body to express something today and listen to what it says.

Keep moving like no one is watching!
Nathalie

PS: for those interested in a holistic view on natural movement that extends beyond exercise, I recommend Katy Bowman's books (e.g. move your DNA), website (nutrituousmovement.com) and podcast (move your DNA with Katy Bowman). The podcast can accompany you on your daily walk alone (if possible) or while you suddenly find yourself putting your feet intentionally on those lego blocks your kid left around, as Katy was saying that texture is important for your feet.
