Announcements and Updates
Good afternoon, families.

We got opportunity to meet as teachers earlier today, and I wanted to pass along a few items for your information.

Weekly Check-in opportunities.  While our school building remains closed, we will plan nevertheless to have a time once per week to collect paperwork from you and to distribute resources to you as needed.  This will be Wednesdays at 11:00am at the school.  We will not have such a time on Wednesday April 1 as that will be during  Spring Break. But if we do not resume our normal schedule on April 7, many of the teachers will be at the school on April 8 again at 11:00.

Sadly, this is not a time to bring your Raggants to the school to play or to hang out with their friends.  That time will come soon (we hope)!  For now, we're trying to practice fellowship and social distancing...at the same time.

Next week's Check-in time would be a great time to turn in your re-enrollment paperwork and your curriculum deposit(s).

Omnibus "meeting" times.  We are going to TRY to utilize Google Hangouts for some classroom meeting times.  Here are the next several scheduled meetings:
  • Friday 3/20 - 10:00am - Omnibus V talking about Praise of Folly
  • Friday 3/20 - 11:00am - Omnibus II and V talking about Ephesians (so the Omni II students will first Hangout at 11:00.  We'll be done at 12:00.
  • Tuesday 3/24 - 10:00-12:00 - Omnibus II (talking about Sir Gawain and the Green Knight...all of it)
  • Thursday 3/26 - 10:00-12:00 - Omnibus V
  • Friday 3/27 - 10:00-12:00 - Combined Omnibus II and V session discussing Philippians and Colossians.
Going forward (for as long as the building is not open) we'll aim to have Omnibus II meet on Tuesdays,  Omnibus V on Thursdays, and combined sessions on Fridays.

Turning in assignments.  Several of the teachers (e.g., Mr. Bowers, Mr. Weinberg, Miss Rothenberger) have asked that assignments be submitted to them electronically by the designated due date.  If they receive homework electronically and on-time, they can turn it around quickly, which they would like to do, and which helps the students.  This is particularly important on the sorts of subjects we're focusing on at this time (e.g., Latin, Math, etc.). For instance, it is very difficult for the math teachers to provide timely feedback (which often is necessary for subsequent lessons) if assignments trickle in late...or if we wait to just hand them in on a Wednesday Check-in.

We understand this may be very difficult or maybe even impossible for some families.  If that's the case, please communicate directly with the teachers and they'll be glad to work with you.

Well, that will do for now! Thank you everyone, and enjoy the beautiful sunshine...and stay healthy.

Risus est bellum!
