It is with a heavy heart that the Committee of the Railway Modellers Meet has decided to cancel the 5th Annual Railway Modellers Meet. The rapidly changing situation with the Covid-19 (Corona) virus and the attendant travel restrictions and limits on gathering sizes has made holding the meet untenable.
The health and well being of all who would attend RMMBC events is paramount so we have had to take this step based on the latest information available on the pandemic.
Those who have already registered and paid for registration, the hands on clinics and any other associated fees will have their money refunded over the coming weeks. We ask for your patience during this process. Simon Fraser University has cancelled all hotel and dorm room reservations as well.
In the innovative spirit of the RMMBC, over the next several weeks the Committee will explore the potential for a new form of railway modelling meet. Not only will this provide a forum for interaction during the current situation but as a chance to try new experiences and opportunities for the future. Stay tuned for future updates!
We are also looking forward to having the Railway Modellers Meet in 2021, with the full offering of clinics, workshops, modelling forums, ops sessions and layout tours you have come to expect from the Railway Modellers Meet. While we are saddened to have to cancel the 2020 meet, we know that the future of the meet is bright. Stay safe and healthy.
