Dear Parent/Guardian,
As we wrap up the second week of our school closure, I want to update you. First, I want to thank our teaching staff and faculty for supporting home learning for our families and trying to keep some sense of normalcy with students. As anticipated, this situation changes from week to week. I understand the disruption that school closure brings to our families and remember we are here to support you. In that spirit, I am including the Dixon Faculty and Staff Website Link in case you need to contact me and or any of our employees for additional support.
During this past week, I have worked from home and visited our school briefly.I have worked closely with the Head of School, Principals, Directors, Faculty, and Support Staff. This has helped us continue to provide services to our students in a manner that is consistent across all three campuses at ISL. On a personal note, I have enjoyed being at home before 6:30 PM and taking a walk with my dog, Evie. I have noticed during these walks an increasing number of parents and children actively interacting outside their homes. Last night alone, I saw three families in a two-block radius, enjoying the outdoors, and none of these people were engaging on a device. Indeed, this time has not called for perfection but connection as Dr. A, Uptown Principal, says. These are several of the positive notes I keep in my daily journal. This, along with the sense that this current global situation demands from us to be less individualistic and more globally conscious. The choices we make are not easy on anyone as it changes our daily routines and way of life, and in some cases, these changes are profound.
You will receive our Dixon Newsletter, Tidbits on Thursday. Take the time to open the link and get to see wonderful activities our teachers are posting, pay special attention to the Enrichment classes. Also, it is important to continue checking the website for the latest information from ISL. We are updating our ISL family page on a regular basis. Please continue to send us your photos and your videos of your children learning at home! We love to hear from you.
HOW ELSE WILL I RECEIVE INFORMATION AND RESOURCES?
