COVID-19 and asthma care updates
We're urging health professionals to work with their asthma patients now to establish optimal control, ahead of future challenges including COVID-19 and the upcoming influenza season.
We will update our website regularly as new information emerges. Key points from this week include performing spirometry, inhaled corticosteroids and medication dispensing.
Performing spirometry

Inhaled corticosteroids

Medication dispensing
New limits apply to asthma medications, with pharmacists required to limit dispensing of certain prescription medicines to one months' supply and salbutamol inhalers subject to new controls. More: TGA
