IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
COVID-19 has changed the world, and Food for the Soul is changing too. We are now going to serve the community facing food insecurity. Recent school and workplace closures have put all of North Texas families and individuals who rely on assistance in an even more vulnerable situation. For instance, these hardworking families have now lost access to the food their children would have received at school through the free and reduced breakfast and lunch program and weekend food through backpack programs.
We are asking our supporters to prayerfully consider making a gift to Food for the Soul’s as we implement our COVID-19 Emergency Action Plan, providing food to hungry neighbors in North Texas. We currently have four food pick up locations that are ready to go, and we will add even more pick up locations as we secure more food. These food pick up sites will be in South Dallas, Denton, North Fort Worth, and Irving as we begin to implement this COVID-19 Emergency Action Plan. Food for the Soul is working with local churches in impoverished communities and food deserts in Dallas, Irving, Coppell, Keller, and Fort Worth, providing drive-through style food pick up for our most defenseless neighbors at this uncertain time.

To our Food for the Soul supporters,
Food for the Soul is a charitable Christian organization that is committed to showing the love of Christ in tangible ways to children and families who need us the most. Our mission is to fight childhood hunger, school by school, in North Texas. In order to do everything we can to preserve the safety and health of our guests, volunteers, staff, and community, we have been monitoring the developments of the COVID-19 virus very closely.
WHAT WE'RE DOING NOW:
We are working with local churches to serve as drive-through sites where families can pick up needed food supplies in as safe an environment as possible.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We are getting our food from a variety of different sources at this time. While practicing social distancing and limiting hands-on volunteer service can make you feel helpless, there is so much you can do from the safety of your home. Please consider making a donation to Food for the Soul as we initiate our COVID-19 Emergency Action Plan. Your donation will help purchase food and put it directly into the hands of children and families who need it most during this uncertain time.
You can get your churches involved, too. Talk to your church leadership about partnering with Food for the Soul as a drive-through distribution point for nearby schools. Churches may also serve as food collection areas for Food for the Soul, and we will send drivers to come to pick up contributed food and transport them to the drive-through distribution points.
Remember, we have not been given a spirit of fear, but a spirit of hope. Food for the Soul's mission has been providing hope for more than 10 years, and we look forward to continuing to make a difference.
