G'day to all our members,

On Tuesday night (16/3) our Executive Committee held its monthly meeting.

We made decisions regarding the operations at our club in light of the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and available information. The Executive committee resolved that:
  • PATROLS ARE ON. Proper social separation is to be practiced. Proper process and procedure will be posted and updated each Friday afternoon on the notice board in the first aid room.  CONTACT YOUR PATROL CAPTAIN IF YOU ARE UNWELL
  • PLEASE bring your own toilet paper and soap, ours is being stolen from our bathrooms.
  • Our caretaker has been asked to increase cleaning and sanitisation and all members should be extra vigilant in cleaning areas such as the first aid room
  • Nippers presentation day is postponed until further notice
  • Friday night BBQ's are suspended until further notice
  • The club end of season thank you BBQ and farewell to our old club is postponed until further notice
  • Bronze Squads postponed. Andrew Hjorth will provide personalised communication to relevant members
  • Our Gym is CLOSED
  • Surf Boat Rowing is suspended until further notice
  • Individual water activities will continue until advice states otherwise
  • IRB crew training will continue
  • Bar will remain open at this stage.  NO CASH, card only
  • Presentation night in May to be rescheduled and new date advised once known
  • I urge all our members to stay engaged and continue to use the beach and the water
  • As club head coach, in light of all winter sports be postponed or cancelled, my advice is to get your surfboard and hit the water while it is still warm and safe from COVID-19.

ADVICE FOR PATROLLING MEMBERS – UPDATE FROM BRANCH
  • Clubs must ensure we meet the minimum requirements as per your Life Saving Agreement.
  • Branch recommends reducing patrolling numbers to a standard to cover the attendance numbers on your beach but not going under the LSA minimum requirement
  • If possible splitting patrols to reduce the members exposure on patrol, the clubs can still give members the full allocation of patrol hours under these conditions.
  • Reduce activities and gatherings with in the club and do patrol change overs external to the building.
  • If members are unwell the should stay away from the club and other members.
  • Ensure PPE is available for members if required, myself and the Duty officers will have face marks to hand out for the weekend. These are to be used if there is any risk to exposure not just when on patrol.
  • Do not treat any persons suspected of having COVID19
Additional and up to date information is also available via the branch website at http://surflifesaving.net.au/pages/covid-19-updates.php
