Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Due to the latest Federal and State Government requirements to slow the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community, a decision has been made to close the City’s four libraries and suspend all library programs and events.

While we understand that this is very disappointing for those people who regularly visit their local library, the Prime Minister has directed that all non-essential services be closed, and the health and wellbeing of the members of our community and our staff must take priority.

Library members who currently have items on loan will have these automatically renewed, with no overdue fines being accrued.

Library members can also access all of our free online resources, in the comfort of their own home. Use your library card to borrow ebooks, e-audiobooks, e-magazines, watch streaming videos, take a computer course, learn a language or listen to a story time session.

For the latest health-related information and advice, please visit the WA Department of Health website, which is updated daily, or call the Coronvirus health information line on 1800 020 080.

For updates on the City's ongoing response to COVID-19, please check our website regularly and follow our corporate Facebook page. Important updates will also be provided via our eNewsletter database. If this message has been forwarded to you and you would like to receive direct updates, please subscribe via our website.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you in our libraries once they reopen.

In line with the mandatory directive from the Prime Minister to shut down all non-essential services, we have closed all of our Library branches, effective from noon Monday 23 March.

Our libraries are important hubs in our community, but our priority must be to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff.

We look forward to welcoming you back to our libraries when they reopen, and in the meantime I encourage you to take a look at our extensive range of free digital collections and online resources, which you can learn more about in this edition of your eNewsletter.
