There is a Time for Everything....

Never have I understood this saying more than now. With us all being in lockdown, so many things that have fallen by the wayside during our everyday life,  surfaced as being so much more important. People search for more meaningful connections, seem more patient, aware and helpful, and we question our own mortality.  I am always amazed by the human spirit and our interaction with each other and the outside world. The balance between Nature and Nurture. Hope you all are safe, and that you are taking advantage and making the most of this pause in time throughout the whole world.

Me, I am a hermit at heart, so I might not even notice the lockdown ;-) I am using this time catching up and experimenting in my studio, with no pressure of upcoming deadlines! Hope I have something significant to show at the end of this.
It was also March #meetthemaker, so if you would like to know something more about me, read about it here.

I have recently started to explore different techniques, like Polymer Etching (read more about it here) and options of doing bronze sculpting in future. So as a teaser, you can read here about the first step I took towards sculpting...

One of the recent changes on my website is a new section called "Portfolio". Here you can view all my work (even though it might not be for sale or sold out). This will give you a better understanding of an entire series, or help you see how the series expands. You can view it here.  While you are on the site anyway, make sure you don't miss the latest addition to my "Misplaced Bunnies" Series, called "Chagall Shenanigans".

Looking forward to hearing from you in the comments.

Stay safe and I am thinking of you all in this challenging time.

Love,
Annemie
Postcards from Paris
I finally got my "Postcards from Paris" Series back from the framers, and I have to say, I am in Love! (Thanks Amy for always doing such a great job). They are sketches of where I was playing around with origami rabbits in different settings in Paris, exploring new concepts to develop into artworks. This is a very intimate look into my process, as I started to doodle with ink in my tiny sketchbook to put down preliminary ideas on paper. This is where new ideas start, and I am delighted to share these sketches with you!

If you would like to view the whole series, click here.
