This is a special edition of the newsletter that provides resources to help you cope in the weeks ahead while many of you are home with kids due to school and office closures.

I have talked to so many parents in recent weeks who are struggling with how to manage their own stress while trying to help their kids understand COVID-19 and respond to their worries about it in developmentally appropriate ways.

I know this is a very stressful time and wanted to offer some relief. Below are links to some of the best articles I've seen about how to talk to kids about COVID-19 and ways to keep kids engaged and active while maintaining your own sanity during this difficult time. Hope these resources help!

Talking to Kids About COVID-19

Talking to Kids About Coronavirus: I was honored to contribute to this very helpful article on talking to kids about the coronavirus. It addresses the importance of managing your own emotions so you don't project worry that can increase your children's anxiety and feelings of insecurity.

How To Talk To Your Kids About Coronavirus: This article from PBS Kids is inspired by Mr. Rogers' who famously explained: "Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting and less scary." It provides great guidance on how to talk to kids about the virus in developmentally appropriate ways.
