Dear Siesta Community,
You have been receiving a lot of information about COVID-19, and we have been receiving a lot of questions regarding it.
We are open.
For the time being, it feels like the right thing to do. Siesta Yoga is a safe space for you to practice, stay embodied, and remain calm. That has always been its purpose and so it remains.
- Our class sizes are limited in capacity to 10 people, so as to give each person sufficient space.
- We will temporarily discontinue the use of studio props and rental mats. Please bring your own mat and feel free to bring props. You also might like to have a towel to place your head on.
We have mats for purchase if need be. We ask that those of you who have stored your mat at the studio take it home with you and bring it back for each class for the time being.
- We will wash our hands frequently and stay home if we are sick or infected. Please do the same.
We will not be giving physical adjustments for the time being. Please greet your teacher from a distance and they will do the same.
- We are taking extra precautions with cleanliness and have a slew of disinfectant options right on the front desk counter that you are welcome to utilize should you find it necessary.
All this said, you may feel it’s best to stay home. Remember how you memorized a portion of the Ashtanga Primary Series in Mysore? This is the time to thoughtfully put that to use.
If there were ever a time to practice, it is now. Breathe deeply. Move your body. Go through your regular activities with mindfulness. Stay hydrated. Eat slowly. Rest. Sleep. Drink tea. Use nature’s herbs and aromatherapy to stay cleansed. Cherish your moments outdoors and pick the sweet nectar hanging from the trees.
We will offer updated articles, purifying pose suggestions, inspiration and schedule updates on Facebook, Instagram and our website. If any major changes take place, we will email you.
Deep breaths!
