U3A CLOSURE DUE TO COVID-19

With the rapidly evolving situation, here and overseas, regarding the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Pandemic, the U3A Port Phillip Committee of Management has been in constant discussion over the past few days regarding what action should be taken to best protect our U3A Members.

In the interests of the health and wellbeing of all our Tutors, Volunteers and Members, the decision has been made to close down classes at all U3APP sites.  We will provide regular updates and, with further knowledge, a decision will be made regarding Term 2, currently due to start on Tuesday 14 April.

Your Committee of Management, along with the IT Team, is currently considering ways in which your involvement with U3APP classes can continue, albeit in a different format.  For some Courses, this will not be practical, while in others there may be workable possibilities.

Some of our Tutors have already made suggestions about how they can continue to hold classes, and if you have ideas we'd love to hear from you - simply email us at webmaster@u3app.org.au

Therefore, at this stage there will be no classes from Monday 16 March until Friday 27 March (after which our two week Term Break starts) unless your Tutor advises you of alternative arrangements.  It will also mean the rescheduling of our Welcome New Members Celebration and the upcoming Saturday Seminar

During this time the Mary Kehoe Office will remain closed, but emails will still be monitored by Volunteers working from home.

We hope all our Members stay safe and healthy and we thank you for your patience and understanding during this very difficult and unprecedented time.

For the safety of all, if you are diagnosed with Coronavirus, it's important you advise the Committee of Management by email at Committee@u3app.org.au.
