Border Collie, Loki, the AKA 'The Foreman' keeps a watchful eye on our construction

Hello friends,

This ezine is a little different from our other newsletters and I want to take the opportunity to let you know our immediate programme in relation to Covid-19/Coronavirus.

Our teaching schedule :

Thankfully only one group class has been disrupted due to the Virus Delay Actions that are currently taking place.  There are no classes, group or private, from next week until mid-June, as our construction goes through the final stages and we move into the new workshop.  If canceling a class, we will make the best decision we can, based on what the health authorities advise.  As of today, we plan that our group classes will begin at the end of June and that private tuition will take place from mid-June. This may change as the advice from the authorities changes.

Postponing your place on a class:

We want all our class participants to make travel decisions based on safety. If you have a class booked with us and wish to postpone your place until later in the year or next year, let us know as soon as your plans allow. We have suspended our cancellation/refund policy and so we can simply move your booking to another date or put your class place 'on hold' until the dust settles and we are all in a better position to plan. You don't have to do anything about it now...but rest assured, if you are not comfortable travelling to participate in your booked class date, we can move your booking.

To prevent the spread of the virus :

  • We have disposable face masks for all and we do encourage class participants to bring your own mask
  • We encourage people to observe social distancing for their personal health and that of others
  • Myself and Cornelia are performing recommended cleaning procedures and we continue to maintain best practices for safe food preparation
  • We will have hand sanitisers in all common areas and towel dispensers installed in the new centre.

Woodturning Bonds:

You can still buy a class place for you, or someone else, and redeem it anytime in the next 10 years by purchasing a Bond. We are extremely grateful to our Bond-holders - it is especially helpful during these uncertain times. Our building is making excellent progress and we look forward to welcoming you to it, when the time is right. The Bond scheme will continue for the remainder of this year, so it is not too late to put your name on the patron wall and prebook a class.

Bowls and Tools:
We have a wonderful selection of bowls and of course our tool range is available on the online shop.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all our friends and visitors for their concern and good wishes for our small family business.

Keep well and remember your workshop is a great place to practice social distancing!

All the very best to you and yours,

Our care for you regarding Coronavirus/COVID-19
