Dear Capital Baptist Church Family and Friends,
As a member of the Annandale, DMV, and USA “communities” it is our responsibility to closely monitor the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. I have spent much of the week in prayer and thoughtful conversation with our SSMART team, staff members and members at large, as well as monitoring announcements from public health officials to decide to do what is best for our membership.
With that in mind, I have decided that Capital Baptist Church will be implementing the following actions for the next two weeks.
• Only Worship Services will be held on Sunday, March 15 and Sunday, March 22, at 8:15, 9:30 and 11 am. Interestingly God led me to preach on Jesus Calms My Fears and Jesus Heals My Sickness the next two Sundays.
• The 9:30 am and 11 am services will be broadcast through our Online Campus. Access the Online Campus through our website: capitalbaptist.org or through the following link http://streamingchurch.tv/stream8565. This is a great way to stay connected and hear God’s message. You can also give online at www.capitalbaptist.org (tab at the top of the page).
• Children’s classes will take place on the next two Sundays; however, if your child is not feeling well or you are not comfortable having them in church, you are welcome to keep them at home.
• All Groups Including Sunday Growth Groups– regardless of the day of the week they meet- will be canceled through Sunday, March 22.
• AWANA will be canceled on Sunday, March 15 and March 22.
Please know that the church is being cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis, and all appropriate hygiene steps are being encouraged. We want you to worship in a safe and comfortable environment. We also encourage you to practice “social distancing” while at church.
If you decide to worship in person, you are most welcome. If you decide to stay away from the group worship, that is quite alright, too. It’s your choice.
I encourage you to pray for one another; paying attention to those who might be most vulnerable to feelings of isolation and anxiety. Please let me know how the church can serve you.
With Jesus's help, we will all do our part during this unique public health “storm” and come together in support and care.
