Dear Ones:

After spirited discussion about how to best provide spiritual support in this scary, uncertain time, your ministers and Board of Trustees have opted to keep the doors open this Sunday for those who are best served by gathering for worship. For those opting to avoid group settings, the service will also be streamed via Zoom Webinar. (Click here for live stream beginning at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow) and Facebook Live. (Visit Unity on the North Shore's Facebook page, beginning(at 10:30). After service, vids will be posted on the UNS website

Mindful of expert recommendations for collective health and safety, we also understand the importance of adhering to recommended practices. Here are precautions in effect as of this week :

  • Ushers will encourage those who attend service to create a safe social distance by leaving three empty seats around you.
  • Rather than hand you a bulletin, they will invite you to pick one up as you enter the Sanctuary.
  • Our door handles, counters and bathroom fixtures are being wiped down regularly with recommended disinfectant.
  • In light of school closures, Soul School will not be offered until further notice. However child care will be available.
  • We are requesting that we greet each other warmly without shaking hands, hugging or high-fives.  This could be done by elbow bumps, waving or bowing in namaste’ to one another.
  • The Garden Chat food service will be suspended until more is known about transmission rates.
  • Those who are not feeling well are strongly encouraged to stay home.
  • Those with compromised immune systems are encouraged to stay home.
  • Staff and volunteers are asked to stay home if not feeling well, and if there is a fever, to be fever-free for 24 hours without the aid of medication (seeking out their medical provider is also strongly encouraged).
Join us in seeing this as a time of opportunity; opportunity to create virtual worship experiences to support those who may be homebound, and to offer more accessible spiritual support through online platforms. Together we can deepen our commitment to creating an oasis for the practice and demonstration of Truth principles as we seek to create a world that works for all.

In Oneness,
Rev. Kurt Condra
