The following note was sent yesterday, 03/13 to Walker Chapel. If you are receiving it again, you may disregard. This is to confirm that everyone in our church family received this important info. More updates will soon follow.

Good afternoon everyone,

You have been in my heart and prayers more than ever as we all watch the unfolding of the COVID-19 virus spread and infect God's people all over the world. I am praying for each of you and your families and my hope is that you are listening carefully to and following the prevention and care guidelines of the CDC as best you possibly can.

What I hope you will hear most from me as your pastor is that we are in an unprecedented time where for the sake of our own health and particularly the health of those most at risk, THE RESPONSIBLE THING TO DO is to practice social distance. It is not in our nature to cancel what we have planned and it is certainly not in our typical zone of comfort to stay away from the rituals and habits that give us comfort and meaning.

While I have not yet actually received the note from our Bishop, Arlington District Superintendent Rev. Sarah Calvert sent a note this morning saying our Bishop has asked that we cancel all services of worship and events for the coming two weeks. This was the conclusion I too had come to by yesterday afternoon as I am sure many of you had also.

Herb Grant has had it on his mind for several months to set us up so that we can livestream services at the Chapel so he has spent some time this morning putting the things he had purchased together and testing them. With that said, we will send further information tomorrow on how to tune in via the Walker Chapel Facebook page on Sunday morning! Please keep your expectations low as we move into this slowly.
:-)

In the meantime, with some of the newfound time you have, I hope you will aim to call and check on one another and especially our homebound folks. I trust you will share your findings with me as you learn how people are.  I will do the same.

Please join me in praying mightily. My prayer is that your hearts are and will continue to be full of faith and empty of fear.

Pastor Lynne
