MARCH 14 ONLINE OPPORTUNITIES AND UPDATES

Good evening everyone,

Just a quick reminder that our service tomorrow morning will be broadcast via Facebook Live at 10:30 am. You do not need to have a Facebook account in order to watch. The live feed will be available on our homepage (scroll down to Featured Events). and on our Facebook page. We’ve been running tests today, and think we’ve worked out most of the kinks (nothing could possibly go wrong!)

Please download and print the bulletin we will be using here. Hymns and prayers are included, so I hope you will participate as fully as you can at home.

Stephan will provide the music.

The Rev. Liz Steinhauser from B-Ready and B-Safe, who was scheduled to preach, will also join us for this pared-down but very beautiful and moving service. Liz is a great preacher and you’ll be able to post questions for her in the comments field of the livestream. Liz will answer questions online after the service.

Please plan to tune in at 10:30 tomorrow.

And don’t forget to mail in your pledge or donate online

Staying Connected This week

Pray Morning Prayer online at 7:00 am on Monday—Wednesday and Saturday links will be posted on the website. The link will take your to a zoom meeting.

Pray Compline on Tuesday 17 March at 8:00 pm (link will be posted on the website).

After a Zoom discussion with a dozen parishioners today about ways we can support one another, I have set up a Private Facebook group All Saints Parish Support and Encouragement Group. It is a private group so that we can post support and encouragement to one another without it being public on Facebook. Because it is a private group you will need to request to join. Just submit the request and I will add you to the group. I recognize that Facebook is not the “go-to platform” for everyone, and we’re exploring other platforms and options that will enable you to support one another and strengthen communal bonds in a similar way. I encourage everyone continue to reach out to one another by phone, text, email, and on social media.

Staff Reminders

Remember all staff will be working remotely, but may come in for select routine tasks. If you need to pick up or drop off anything at church please make an appointment by emailing David (office@allsaintsbrookline.org), so someone is sure to be here.

Outreach Changes

City Reach has said we cannot participate in the overnight—too much risk for that vulnerable population—but the clothing/sock drive will continue, and the donations will be greatly appreciated.

MANNA will continue, but with very modified guidelines—we can only serve prepackaged foods, and they will be served by trained personnel. I’ve been in touch with our MANNA and City Reach teams, and we are working on ways to continue collecting much needed items. Most likely we will set up some “drive-by drop off times” when you can bring you donations and drop the at the curb for some of the teens to collect. More info to come.

I am also working with Mary Urban Keary and Anoma to create a system of phone check-ins for parishioners who would especially like phone contact during this time. If you would be willing to be part of this initiative please contact Mary Urban Keary.

Upcoming Zoom Meetings
The newly reformed Outreach Committee will meet at noon tomorrow.

The Saints Alive editorial committee will meet tomorrow at 2:00 pm.

The Family Ministry Search Committee will meet Tuesday at 6:00 pm.

The Vestry will meet Wednesday at 6:30 pm

I remain so grateful for each and every one of you. It is both humbling and a joy to minister with and among you. You continue to teach me so much about faith, and resilience, and generosity. I look forward to our virtual time together tomorrow, and to the day when we can be together in the fullness of our communion once more.

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen.
