CONTINUING RESEARCH AND INVESTIGATION INTO THE MOST THREATHENED SPECIES
The situation of P. alfredi has been in the focus for some time, and the fear of it being lost has been big. The habitat of Sedili is indeed destroyed, but investigations and research is ongoing, - and based on the findings of Wentian Shi, hopefully theres good news to be announced soon.
The PP is now actively engaged in two initiatives concerning P. alfredi, - one with Chester Zoo, working on a mandate from IUCN to
maintain insurance populations of the two species P. alfredi and P. tweediei
Another project underway is together with Shoal, The Parosphromenus Project and local Malaysian resouces - in which a first meeting took place in Singapore 5-6 february 2020
Conservation of Parosphromenus fishes and other peat swamp specialist fishes in Malaysia.
