Dear GEO Members,
In the face of this unprecedented health emergency, we want to ensure that all employees are safe. If you feel that you are being asked to work in a way that endangers your safety or health, immediately notify your supervisor and the union (geo@umb.edu and UAW1596@aol.com ) to discuss steps that may be taken to address your concerns. If you choose not to work because of lack of response by the University to valid health and safety issues, indicate that in writing to your supervisor and the union (geo@umb.edu and UAW1596@aol.com). The union supports your right to a safe and healthy work environment.
If you have been deemed essential staff, or are required to be on-site during the pandemic, email the union immediately. We want to know who you are so that we can reach out to you if more information emerges. We want to have conversations so we're in touch.
We've prepared a brief membership survey to collect comments and feedback from membership. Let us know what's going on for you. We want to know so we can help.
Another update will go out tomorrow with more information... there's a lot going on. Email the union (geo@umb.edu and UAW1596@aol.com) if anything feels off or fishy on your end. We want to be communicating and chatting with each other frequently so if anything does go wrong, we can help you as quickly as possible.
