Good morning, afternoon, or evening, wherever you may be!

I wanted to start this week on a positive note. It’s a stressful time for all of us. But this is one the many times that I’m thankful I work with a small audience that I know so well, because I can reach out to you to easily.

You can do the same with your customers—it’s the beauty of being in a niche market. To kick off your week, here are some tips for making the most of these uncertain times.

  • Be upfront with your audience about what is going on in your business. They know you don’t have all of the answers; they aren’t expecting a solution from you. But you can still give them reassurance. There’s a big need for unity right now, and having a real conversation will contribute to that.
  • Get real with your staff. Chances are that all or part of your staff already works remotely. One of the biggest negatives that I see in remote working is that the only interactions you get to have with your coworkers are work-related. You miss out on the how-was-your-weekend and the coffee talk and the dreaming up of far-fetched future projects that bring coworkers together during the workday. While many people are adjusting to a sudden modified lifestyle, use this time to jump on Skype or FaceTime with one or more of your coworkers and just catch up. Have one of those dream-big brainstorms. Build some unity.
  • Take a look at your business. This may be the break that you’ve been waiting for to make some changes in your business’s infrastructure or really get started on a new project. When times are forcing you out of your daily work routine, use it to your advantage to change things up for the better.

Here’s a list of ways that birders can support the birding community during these uncertain times. You can share it with your audience or modify it to make it your own.

We’re all in this together, and that’s the truth. If you’re working from home when you usually don’t or your trip got cancelled or you’re just feeling overwhelmed, you can give me a call anytime. I’m always available for a chat or virtual coworking session.

With love for you and the birds,

Mollee
