I am an animal lover. It doesn’t matter what species or breed. Well, I am leery of big spiders! But even they fascinate me with their intricate web weaving.
I am amazed how animals care for and protect their young. I know you have seen the videos of the female and male caring for their infants. Who teaches them how to do this? I remember, as a young mother, wishing I had a manual that came with the birth of each child.
One day during a spring downpour, I sat in the comfort of my warm, dry kitchen looking out the window. I watched a mother bird, exposed to the rain and wind, her wing extended over the baby who had fallen out of the nest. The fierce weather prevented her from returning to the tree, so she covered her baby until the storm passed. How many storms has God protected you through? Did you wait patiently until the storm passed?
I am celebrating this day, March 23. It was the day God blessed me with my first child, Melissa Dawn Ingram. Happy Birthday, my precious daughter. You taught me about unconditional love, unwavering patience, fear, joy and protection. My wings will cover you, and my heart will love you, but God’s grace will protect you in a way beyond understanding. Turn first to Him and then to me.
