Dear Devotees, Members, Sponsors and Volunteers
On behalf of the board, I would like to provide an update on the progress we made since we launched the CMT in 2017-2018.
Build, Grow, and Expand the CMT Community
Our key focus for the year 2019 was to create awareness and understanding of our vision to our general public. With your commitment, dedication, and support, we have made significant progress in building, growing, and expanding our community well beyond RTP.
Our Leadership Chairs from various committees planned and executed many successful events to bring the spiritual and cultural experience to our devotees. These events could not have been achieved without the dedicated CMT devotees, members, sponsors and volunteers.
Plan and Roadmap
One of the questions being asked by everyone is when the site will be ready. Please see our journey and future roadmap.

Our immediate goal is to operationalize the Moncure site as quickly as possible, with a minimal budget. We have been tirelessly working with Site Design Engineers, Surveyors, County government, and other agencies to accelerate the permitting process. This approval will give us the green light to construct the full temple or temporary structure for us to operate at the site.
In parallel, we are also discussing with Stapathi to sculpt and ship the Six Feet replica of the 155 Feet Murugan Statue to the USA. We will keep you posted with the progress in a few months.
The availability of the funds is the primary limiting factor, and it will be a major constraint for us to accelerate the approval and construction process. We will need approximately 1.9 Million US dollars to get the infrastructure and other utilities.

- Please consider becoming a lifetime member ($2500 one or multiple payments) or Temple Patrons from $2501 – $250,000 range.
You can also connect with your friends and share this initiative, identify their interests, and request them to donate money. Also, if you have any potential mega-donors, we can go as a team to meet them in person, present the proposal and benefits. Please spend some time to evaluate and identify potential donors and let us know.

Nallur Murugan Festival at CMT

|
Eelam Tamizh Murugan Devotees from RTP area have pledged an amount of $500,000 to be collected and paid in five years. This money initially will be used to construct Phase I of the temple, and part of the funds will be used to build the World Tamil Cultural Museum. They also would like to host one of the significant and the world-famous Nallur Murugan Temple Festival at CMT temple site. We are looking into the feasibility of making this event possible in the year 2020 itself.
We will be working with the Eelam Tamizh Murugan Devotees to raise the required money and work with the county to expedite the approvals.

Send us Panguni Uthiram 2020 Celebrations Pictures

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and consistent with the guidance from the North Carolina state government officials on restrictions including large public gatherings, the CMT board has decided to cancel the upcoming Punguni Uthiram Event, initially scheduled on April 6th 2020.
All devotees are encouraged to conduct this event at home and send your pictures with God and your family members to CMT. We will publish the first five pictures in the April 2020 Newsletter, and the rest of the photos will be uploaded into our website for public viewing.

Volunteers Needed for Cooking Committee
|
|
|
As we are growing and a large number of people are attending our events, we have decided to standardize the food menu and provide a consistent food quality for all of our events. To achieve this goal, we are forming a Cooking Committee to take care of all the cooking-related activities.
We are looking for ten volunteers to lead and support various activities in the committee. A Chair and Vice-Chair will be selected to lead this committee.

Volunteers Needed for Farming Committee

|
Farming committee is actively working to start the following activities in the Spring 2020.
- Community Vegetable Garden – Adults and Kids
- Bee Keeping - Adults
- Identifying, Labelling and Documenting Trees in the CMT Site – College and School Students who are interested in Biology and Environment can sign up for this.
