Undergrad "AREC e-Announcements" for students majoring in Agribusiness Economics & Management (ABEM), and Environmental & Water Resource Economics (EWRE).
Hello AREC Wildcats!

This is to provide you with details to receiving academic advising for the remainder of the Spring semester with the changes due to COVID-19.

I hope that you are each settling into your new/updated student environment whether this at home, your dorm, your apartment or a friend's house.  I suggest making your space as comfortable and as studious as possible, to allow for yourself to focus while attending classes online in this time.

If you are unsure how your courses will be managed now that they are being provided as "online delivery mode", check your UA email, D2L, or if you don't see communication from your instructor, email them directly to inquire.  Classes will resume Mar. 18, officially.  Monday & Tuesday Mar. 16 & 17, Spring Break was extended to allow for more time to get courses online.  (if you need to obtain UA instructor/staff/student email address, search for it at: https://directory.arizona.edu/phonebook)

ABEM & EWRE academic advising will only be provided via phone and email, until further notice.  Use Trellis Advise to schedule appointments, drop-ins are suspended until further notice.

Steps for making appointments:
  1. Once you make an advising appointment using Trellis Advise from the link above (it is also in my email signature), email me your specific questions and indicate if you prefer a phone appointment or responses via email.
  2. If you indicate your preference for the appointment to be over the phone, I will call you at the primary phone number in UAccess for you, unless you provide me a different phone number in your email with your questions.
  3. If in your email, you indicate that you prefer an emailed response to your questions, I will respond during your scheduled appointment time.
  4. Any documents I send you will be attached to the email or I will send you a link to UA Box, our official cloud storage, and you will log-in with your net-id and password to retrieve the document.
  5. Thank you for your patience while we both adapt to this new method of academic advising and general support.

Please be cautious during this time of uncertainty and please remember, I am here to help you and support you.  Our appointments can be with specific questions, or simply so that I may provide you a listening ear for your concerns.  Until I have a working camera on my laptop, our appointments are phone and email only, but my dedication to and support for each of you will not change.

Please make smart choices regarding going out and about, social distancing is real and necessary.  I care about each of you.
Please let me know any ways that I can better support you.
I was out sick all of last week (Mar. 9-13), I am much better now, and on Mar. 16 I will begin sorting through and responding to emails I received during my absence.

If you have anything that is preventing you from being successful in your now all icourse environment courses, I want and need to know about them.  Please keep me updated on these issues and anything else you are experiencing, so that I may provide assistance.  Thank You!
