A downtown, non-profit organization with older, handsome, African American male members shared with me a need for an approximate $600,000 revolving line of credit to float the organization’s operations.  A segment of their plan necessitated a need for warehouse space.  They were open to locating in Orleans or Jefferson Parish.  Their investment would be directed at the least expensive lease rate available for a warehouse operation.

Postponed: Franchise Workshop to held in New Orleans East
 
NOELA Services, LLC, in partnership with New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, Fidelity Bank, and University of New Orleans Urban Entrepreneurship and Policy Institute, will present a Franchise Workshop designed to explore business opportunities in New Orleans East.

This workshop will explore why New Orleans East is poised for growth, and will present a panel of local franchisees who will discuss their experiences with operating businesses in New Orleans East and elsewhere.

School Meal Programs
 

New Orleans Public Schools, charter schools and local agencies are working together to help feed school students during the prolonged school closure because of coronavirus concerns.

The efforts have resulted in a city-wide child nutrition program starting March 23, but some school locations will become Community Feeding Locations open to anyone younger than18 beginning Monday.

Schools in New Orleans East that will be Community Feeding Centers beginning Monday, including their addresses and hours of operation.

Louisiana's presidential primary election to be delayed because of coronavirus

The presidential primary elections, initially scheduled for April 4th, will now be held June 20th.

Audubon Operation Changes
 

Audubon closed admission facilities to the public effective Saturday, March 14, through at least March 28, pending any further guidance or directives from the City or State. 

 

The Nature Center's trails, Audubon Park and Riverview, Woldenberg Riverfront Park, the Audubon Park Clubhouse and Golf Course, and Audubon Tennis will remain open and operate as usual. 

 

Council President Announces Suspension of Public Meeting Schedule, Closure of Council Chambers Through March

New Orleans Council President Helena Moreno announced the suspension of all public Council meetings through at least the end of March, including the Council's regular meeting next week on March 19th. President Moreno also closed City Council chambers for the same period and advised all boards and commissions to suspend their in-chamber meetings during the month of March.
