Re-Starting at the start.

It has been some time since the last update and it seems a tremendous amount of things have happened since then. Perhaps needing to talk about the positive things is the best course of action. I started this mailing list message at the beginning of March. Of course we are all aware of all the events since then. It seems rather pointless at times to be talking about such mundane things as sound, noise and performances. I do appreciate and respect the severity of the situation we all find ourselves in. I also hope that you are all safe and taking the precautions needed to remain safe. It is with some apprehension that I will pick up with this mail message where i left off. If it is one thing we may all require to maintain some sanity, it could very well be some form of escape to pass the time. Myself as well.

First off, Bandcamp is waiving their cut / commissions on May first from midnight Thursday to 11:59pm Friday. So jumping in on this bandwagon I have uploaded some additional titles. Also as a gift to everyone on this list I am offering a free download. The only requirement is to email me at info@mk9.org from your subscribed email address with the title you would like and i will generate a code for a free download and email it to you. It's just a small way of saying thank you for being a subscriber. If you would like an additional download let me know. For the time being I have also closed the online shops. This is to minimize any risk of exposure, for myself as well as others. That is also the reason I have added more titles to download. If by chance, the situation changes and you have purchased a digital item, the money spent on that will go towards the purchase of any of the physical goods of the same title that are still available. Just let me know and we can work out the transaction.

--Previous composed message continued--
Had a great time with the short tour back in November in the states and of course so many thanks to everyone that played and helped book the shows as well as showing up. Here are some pictures from that trip. Then in December Rusalka and myself played in Oakland at Church Of The First Buzzard. It was Rusalka's first time playing in the Bay Area and California. We also were honored to perform live on Russ Kent's KPFA The No Other Radio Network radio show. Here is a link to the live sets on the radio. It was a very busy end of the year. Rusalka has also put up on Bandcamp 12 of her past releases that are now available for download.

We had planned on doing a Europe tour in the fall but obviously that is not going to happen this year. I had been working on a new set, departing quite substantially from the previous ones. This as well will have to wait until there is a global green light for everyone.

So far now we all just need to sit tight, and wait it all out.

NEURAL OPERATIONS RECENT RELEASES

Vilgoć - V4DA (Poland)
Amazing hard layered noise and static walls. Polish sound artist Sebastian Harzmany delivers another amazing work of unrelenting abuse. Limited to 100 pro cdr and fold over full color cover. Sample Audio

Whip Of The UFO - AFB (Canada)
Vancouver's own Andrew Scott is the person behind the project. A beekeeper by trade he takes a look at the essence of the various diseases contracted by bees. Samples on his page
Praying For Oblivion - Doppelgänger
A C20 that takes a journey through hard interpersonal sound scapes. Moment upon moment of hard audio abuse. Relentless and uncompromising.

MK9 - Absence of Meaning
Four tracks on a mini cdr of sonic sedation, piercing levels masked behind an intention of absence.
First off i would like to apologize to the subscribers on this list. In a perfect world i would have given some advanced notice on these reissue tapes. For that i am very sorry. It was quite an avalanche of chaos once the production process started. Selling out almost all of them within a few days. I had no idea of the response to the release of these. These cassettes all came in an edition of 50.

Xome / Death Squad - Life: Quit It. / Automaton (C64) 1996
Cock E.S.P. / Death Squad - Temporary Paralysis / Residue (C20) 1996
En Nihil / Death Squad - Untitled (C20) 1996
K.C.I.D. / Death Squad - Michael Jackson Are My Dick! / Amnesia (C50) 1996
Off World Kick Death Squad - Arc Light (project before Death Squad) (C33) 1994

There are still some available online through discogs. I haven't checked all the distributors current stock but you might want to inquire.
White Cenitpede - Germany
Thousands Of Dead Gods - USA
Skeleton Dust Records - USA
No Mames Distro - USA
Doc Monomer's Audio Emporium - USA
Near Future
Current plans are looking towards doing a collaboration release with Influencing Machine Records of the Death Squad 1997 tour. This would include flyers, handouts, radio shows, live performances (audio) and photographs. The exact format is still under discussion, but it looks like it will be a type of book / zine. I have over 400 photos i took on that tour and many radio shows and live recordings. This will be a great opportunity to share all of this material. There is no exact time frame or deadline yet. I have scanned all the printed material and pictures and now just have to review all the audio material. Then of course the layout. Included will be some recollections from each city and show, as much as my memory can accurately recall.
Thanks for reading and take care of yourselves.
All the best,
michael
