NCPTA is North Carolina’s oldest and largest volunteer organization advocating for the education, health, safety, and success of all children and youth while building strong families and communities.

The health, safety, and well-being of the children and their families across North Carolina is our main priority, so we have provided the following valuable resources to help parents stay informed:

We are looking to fill several roles for next year’s PTSA Board.  Please view the link attached and email with any questions.  We need parent volunteers to support the approximately 2700 students and 200 staff members at our school.

But first, COFFEE!
Our workrooms are just about empty and our teachers need fuel to get through the second half of the year. Support them by buying some K-Cups and support us by doing it through smile.amazon.com!  If you sign up below, we'll be able to track our inventory. Although donations are welcomed at any time, we are trying to restock by next Friday, March 6th. We appreciate your support. So do our teachers!

#BeThe1To
Ask the tough question
When somebody you know is in emotional pain, ask them directly: “Are you thinking about killing yourself?”

#BeThe1To
Keep Them Safe
Is your friend thinking about suicide? Ask if they’ve thought about how they would do it and separate them from anything they could use to hurt themselves.

#BeThe1To
Be There
If your friend is thinking about suicide,
Listen to their reasons for feeling hopeless and in pain.
Listen with compassion and empathy and without dismissing or judging.

#BeThe1To
Help Them Connect
Help your friend connect to a support system, whether it’s 800-273- TALK(8255), family, friends, clergy, coaches, co-workers or therapists, so they have a network to reach out to for help.

#BeThe1To
Follow Up
Check in with the person you care about on a regular basis. Making contact with a friend in the days and weeks after a crisis can make a difference in keeping them alive.
And thank you to all of our sponsors....
