Woolyn will be closing, effective Wednesday, March 18th for one month. We are hoping to re-open on Tuesday, April 7th.   We will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17th, from 11am - 5pm to prepare for the closure.

I'm not gonna lie.  In fact, I'll be brutally honest with you all.  Even as I know this is the right decision - even the only one that I could possible make, it is really hard to make it.  Just like just about every other yarn store (and other small businesses), Woolyn operates on very small margins. We count on sales from this time of the year to help us through the slower summer months. This is going to be a financial hit that is almost definitely going to have long term effects on the shop.  I am going to continue to pay the amazing staff while we're closed, and closing isn't, unfortunately, going to reduce the shop monthly expenses significantly.

Here are some things you can do to help us out while the shop is closed to customers:

• Place an email order! Email me at info@woolyn.com, and we'll get you set up. We will be doing neighborhood delivers + drive-by pick ups.  I will also mail things out as we can. I'll be happy to work with you and send you pictures of yarn, etc. to help you make your choices.   (In a related note, #1 on the priority list while the shop is closed to customers is for me to finish the new website so we can do online sales.)

* Want to support us, but don't need any yarn at this very moment?  Get a gift card for future shopping fun. This is easy to do over the phone or email and we can keep the card for you at the shop until you're able to pick it up.  You can also get a gift card for a friend, kid, co-worker etc.

• Have extra time on your hands? Got some scrap yarn?  Make us a small creature/critter (or three) to use in the upcoming summer window.  Make anything you want, realistic, fictional, funny, crazy, cute, scary - you name it.  Just keep it smaller than 6" tall/wide.  We'll get them back to you when the fall window goes up.  Let your boredom help us make something awesome!

* Even though I viscerally hate the idea of asking for donations when there are so many other problems, I've set up a Go Fund Me page to help cover expenses. Anything you're able to give will first go directly to staff expenses, and then to covering rent and utilities.  We are all extremely grateful for any help you're able to give, and please have no doubt it will be making a huge difference.

Be kind to each other and yourself this week.

❤️  Woolyn
