Market Closure and Updates
View this email in your browser
Dear Vendors,

We wanted to provide you with the latest news and updates about the Downtown Farmers Curb Market, which is closed until further notice.

Here's what we know:
  • The Market is definitely closed for Saturday, March 21st.
  • We do not know how long the Market will be closed. We are responding to the State's requests and guidelines regarding mass gatherings, and we are taking it on a week-by-week basis.
  • We will let you know every Monday what the plan is for the following Saturday, so that you have time to prepare.
Here's the plan for Shared Marketing Costs (for Full Time and Seasonal Vendors Only):
  • If you have not paid for your March Shared Marketing Costs, don't worry about paying. (We will deal with the one week of attendance on March 7 later.)
  • If you did pay your March Shared Marketing Costs but you need cash back in your pocket, we will refund the entire month. (We will deal with the one week of attendance on March 7 later.) Please email psharp@ldda.org, and let her know if you need a refund.
  • If you paid your March Shared Marketing Costs but you don't want a refund, then you will receive a credit for future attendance.
Here are some ideas for keeping your sales going in the meantime while the Market is closed:
  • We are going to send customers to your vendor page on the website so they can contact you for special orders/sales. Check your page here for accuracy/updates. Is your email address accurate? Would you like us to add a phone number? Email bmelson@ldda.org with updates.
  • Thank you to everyone who already sent me their completed vendor questionnaires. I now have plenty of time to use those to update your pages and will be doing so over the next few days and sharing on social media. If you haven't completed your questionnaire yet and would like to do so, click here.
  • We are considering using the LDDA Office at 117 N. Kentucky Ave. as a drop off/pick up point for special orders during the week. Basically, your customers would order your product, you'd label it and package it up and deliver it to the office, and then your customers would pick it up from the office. Let us know if that is something you are interested in, and we will determine logistics/hours. Email bmelson@ldda.org if you are interested.
  • Produce Vendors: Have you thought about doing a mixed vegetable/fruit box for a flat rate? You could take a picture of what will be in it and the cost, and we would promote it to see if people wanted to buy it and pick it up from the LDDA Office. You could even do different size/cost boxes (maybe small, medium, large). Let us know if you are interested--I, for one, would buy one!
  • What do you want us to communicate to your Market customers in the newsletter? Do you have other ways to reach customers--via online sales, a website or etsy page, or something else? Are you doing special deliveries to customers homes? Email bmelson@ldda.org with your promotions. (This email sent to you today is in lieu of the normal call for submissions that goes out on Tuesdays.)
Thank You and Stay Healthy,
The Market Staff
