Expansive and gracious God,
we need your blessings and hope during this desert time.
Shower those who grieve with comfort and courage, especially those who grieve:
- Julie's mom's cousin, Carol, who died suddenly at 58, leaving her husband Jerry and son and two grandchildren
- Darrell’s uncle, David Knee, who died, leaving his wife of 65 years
Shower those who need physical strength with peace and perseverance, especially:
- Carol Joly who was overnight last Tuesday in the hospital with a GI bleed.
- Mackenzie who is self quarantined because two colleagues have Coronavirus
Shower those who wrote to the prayer box with your presence:
- Sophie and her husband awaiting visa so they can be together after a year apart.
Shower those who travel with safety and serenity, especially:
- Britt’s sister traveling back to Georgia Sunday
- Megan who flew home to Arizona during this quarantine time
- Kelly Jane's parents visiting her brother in Japan
Shower your hope and patience on each of us as we grapple with the impacts of the coronavirus, especially:
- medical professionals, including Candy's daughter who is a nurse
- children who are out of school
- wage employees whose hours and income are drastically decreasing
- everyone who has "cabin fever"
God, you surround us with blessings, help us to see your love, your peace, your hope amid the chaos of this time.
Grant us the serenity to accept what we cannot change,
the courage to change what we can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Amen.
