SFCAC message about COVID-19 and art activities families can do together at home

Dear San Francisco Children's Art Center Community,

We sincerely hope this message finds you and your loved ones well. This is a challenging time of discomfort and anxiety for all of us, and especially for our young people.

Although we have temporarily closed the Fort Mason studio and our artist residencies with school site partners have been postponed, SFCAC remains committed to our mission to empower children to develop their sense of self through artistic exploration. Now more than ever, it is essential for us to use the power of artmaking to express our emotions, to lift our spirits, and to engage with one another in meaningful ways.

To support families with children at home, we have added a new page to our website with information about how parents can support their children's creative development, along with several family art activities that use materials that most families already have at home. We will update this page with new activities every few days so that you will have fresh ideas to engage with your children in creativity.

As your family creates together, please feel free to email us with photos that we can share on the pages and bolster the spirits of our community.

We look forward to a healthy community and to resuming our normal programming in the near future where we can celebrate and create together.

With warmest regards,
San Francisco Children's Art Center
