Some important updates on how things stand with the church, and actions we are taking to stay safe, healthy, and functioning in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic:
  1. Church Office Hours will be limited from 8am to Noon, Monday through Thursday in order to limit traffic and allow time for detailed cleaning of our church facilities. The church will remain closed on Fridays.
  2. Sunday Worship Services will continue at the regular times (both in the large Sanctuary), but we encourage anyone who feels sick or at risk to stay home.  We will broadcast both services via Facebook Livestream for any who wish to participate remotely.
  3. Activities for all church groups larger than 50 participants are canceled until further notice.  This includes the Preschool, Homeschool Co-op, Kids-N-Co, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.  Small groups (10 or fewer) are still meeting, but have been relocated to larger rooms where social distance can be maintained.
  4. Several people have volunteered to help run errands, pick up groceries, etc. for our at-risk and vulnerable church members.  If you would like assistance, or would like to volunteer, please leave a message for Patty at the church office (533-7551).
  5. Please continue to support the church during this difficult time through your prayers, study, gifts and service, and let us know how we can best continue to support you.  If you would like to make a financial contribution, please click here or use the Venmo App: @fpcep.
Above all, please pray for our congregation, our community and our world, that through our words, our actions, and our example of love, we may be a light shining in the darkness.
This Lent, Pastor Neal is preaching through the Book of Job, which Lord Alfred Tennyson once called "the greatest poem of ancient and modern times."  Join us as we explore this tragic yet majestic work of art in our 9am and 11am worship services.

Our Lenten Breakfast will CONTINUE to meet, and is NOT canceled.  Please join us for this small group gathering with breakfast and a devotional, every Friday morning at 7am in the Robert Young Center.
We regret that our Saturday evening Contemplative Service is canceled until further notice.  Please know that when public health concerns permit, we plan to offer something similar as soon as possible.
Now is the time to order Easter Lilies to decorate our Sanctuary for Easter Sunday!  You may donate Easter Lilies in memory or in honor of a loved one.  Following the 11am Easter service, the lilies will be delivered to our homebound church members. The deadline to order is Palm Sunday, April 5, 2020.  Lilies are $10 each.  Order forms are available in the Robert Young Center, or by calling the church office at (915) 533-7551..
The novelist Victor Hugo, author of Les Miserables, once said that "if all literature was to be destroyed and it was left to me to retain one work only, I would save the Book of Job."  You've probably heard Pastor Neal preach several sermons on Job (his favorite book of the Bible) but have you ever actually read it?  All of it?  This Lent, instead of giving something up, take the challenge to read the entire book of Job along with your friends at First Presbyterian Church.  You can do it in approximately one chapter each day (10 minutes average reading time).  Then join us to discuss and experience this masterpiece of world literature over Friday morning Lenten breakfasts, after Saturday evening contemplative worship, and at Sunday morning services.  Click here for a reading calendar and to begin the challenge...
